skinny neck scarf outfit

We all have dreams and hopes. Me included. Being 25, I’ve reached some, a lot of them are still waiting to be conquered. In the past few days I’ve been stressed, working hard and lacking time for the easy things I enjoy (like a Youtube marathon of beauty chats and cute cat videos). But still, I’ve reached a point in my life where I know how hard I need to work, how far should I push my limits in order to continue towards my goals. It can be hard for anyone, it’s hard for me as well. Nevertheless, you should remember to never give up, remember that you are responsible for your own future. Challenges will strengthen your character as well as your knowledge, forget all about self-doubt, but on the other hand don’t forget that you are only human (mistakes and failures are part of everyone’s life), be open to new ideas and new things and enjoy your journey.

Remember to keep your hopes up high (and your head down low). And never underestimate the power of high heels.

bloggers-run-with-adidas-21

As you may know, I am a former track & field athlete, so running is something I have always felt connected to. It is, for sure, my favourite workout – even today. Thanks to the Bloggers run with Adidas project, I got back to my running routine (we’ve got a final test in form of a 15km trail run at the end of our project, so I have to be more consistent with my running!). Overall, I love our joint training, it’s always a pleasure having company when running. Great company was always one of the reasons I happily attended every training session in my running career. To be completely honest I sometimes miss my training colleagues, we truly enjoyed some amazing times together. Today my new running company consists of two amazing Slovenian bloggers Tjaša and Tesa, and we each have 3 lovely readers joining us. Our Adidas trainer Blaž Strožer, is keeping an eye on every single one of us, making sure our running technique improves, as well as our performance. I will definitely keep you updated with our progress, meanwhile you can take a look at our training plan (and maybe even follow it yourself):

6x 50 m build-up run

Viva's Leather Goods

There are many reasons why black is so easy to wear – it goes pretty much with every colour, it makes you look thinner, it’s timeless and makes it extremely simple to put together an outfit for any occasion. Keeping it monochrome, even in black, can be a smart and easy move. It can be boring for sure, but on the other hand it can be elegant, trendy or edgy as well. Today I decided to share with you one of the looks we shot for the latest Viva’s Leather Goods editoral in the botanical gardens in Ljubljana. With the black bucket bag, MacBook sleeve and a small pouch we decided to keep it simple and minimalistic – wearing black culottes and a longer black top.

La Roche-Posay dry skin

La Roche-Posay has always been one of the brands that has all skin concerns covered. All those with problematic skin should mark this brand as one of the safe choices. They’ve got everything – from acne treatments, products for extremely oily skin, redness, dryness, even rosacea, dermatitis and eczema. LRP is the minimalistic superstar of the French pharmacy brands in my opinion. My favourite is still Vichy, but LRP comes second for sure. I’ve found some true beauty gems for my dry and (more or less) dehydrated skin at the La Roche-Posay department in the past few months:

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Gel Lavant soothing protecting shower gel

I believe this is a new addition to the LRP Lipikar range. It’s a soap-free and paraben-free shower gel, which gently cleanses and protects your skin. Respecting the skin pH, it’s suitable for the whole family and has a delicate fresh scent.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Syndet cleansing body cream-gel

A creamier version is the LRP Lipikar Syndet, which is a true all-rounder. You can use it to cleanse you whole body (even more delicate parts and your face). After a recommendation from Maja (Parokeets blog) I tried it once for removing my makeup, and you know what? It does a remarkable job! Overall, this is a cleansing gel suited for very dry, sensitive and irritated skin. It’s soap-free, fragrance-free and the paraben-free formula is perfect for anyone, even babies.

La Roche-Posay Eau Thermale thermal spring water

LRP Thermal Spring Water is at the heart of most LRP products. It refreshes and soothes, it’s rich in antioxidants (especially selenium) and works great as the last step in cleansing, first step in skin-care or toning/refreshing your skin (you can use it to fix your makeup as well). A “must have” for dry winter or hot summer months!

La Roche-Posay Hydreane Riche moisturizing cream for sensitive skin

I’ve been enjoying this face cream for the past two weeks now. It provides hydration for my dry and dehydrated skin – as my daily cream it has been completely enough, while for my night time skincare routine I like to add a drop of oil or/and serum underneath.

La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB Crème unifying-moisturising care

This LRP product is probably suitable for any skin type, however not for any skin tone. Although I’ve got the Light shade, it’s a bit dark for my “pale winter face”. I wore it last year through the summer, loved its smooth and soft finish, the fact that it has SPF20 (to protect my skin from harmful effects of UV rays) and light, natural coverage.

how to wear stripes

Stripes can be tricky to wear for sure, but on the other hand can be used as means of figure adjustment (optical illusions) – they can make your figure look slimmer and even hide those (in your eyes) problematic parts of your body. Today they are considered as neutrals, you can wear them in different styles for variety of occasions. Though they are chic and simple, they can be easy to mix and match, but on the other hand quite tricky to work with, especially if you are not comfortable getting some extra attention. I’ve gathered some tips and tricks on how to wear stripes in order to look as good as you deserve:

Horizontal or vertical?

That’s a tough one. Horizontal and vertical stripes have different tendencies. For years, we were told that vertical ones are more flattering and we should avoid horizontal. Today, after some serious research the fashion experts have come to the conclusion that this is actually not the case. Horizontal stripes will make your body slimmer, while vertical ones can widen your body. That doesn’t mean you should toss away the verticals and never buy them again, just take that into consideration.

The wider the stripe, the bolder the statement.

Keep in mind, if you wear wider striped clothing, you will attract more eyes, get more attention. They are bolder and definitely a statement wear. Pick thinner stripes for pieces that you don’t want to stand out so much (like a business appropriate shirt) and fashionable pieces in bolder ones (like a cocktail dress).

Are they for anyone?

Technically yes. You can wear whatever you want (all the stripes you can get), if you fancy and feel confident. Overall the wider striped clothes are not the wisest choice for plus-sized women, however that doesn’t mean you should avoid them completely. They can help you look taller and slimmer, with the wise choice of a clothing piece depending on your body shape. Extra note: Avoid striped bottoms, if you have a pear-shaped body.

Black and white + navy blue and white

The safest and chicest stripe choices are definitely combinations of black and white or navy blue and white. It’s always wise to pick a colour combination of the lighter shade (preferably white) and a darker one. Embrace the nautical chic (as I did) or pick a Parisian inspired black and white striped top with jeans and a red accessory.

Remember: Always have fun with fashion. Wear to entertain yourself.
