Just before New Year’s Eve I posted a YouTube video full of tips & tricks on how to create a party makeup look. I decided to go for a dewy finish on my skin (which can be rather hard considering my dry skin in the winter), slight contour, lots of highlighter, smokey eyes in gold and dark brown, precise eyeliner and red lipstick (even though there were still signs of cold sore on my lips). In the video I am taking you towards the final party makeup look with the help of a few tricks I learned in the past. You might find them useful as well.

Happy 2017 fashion blog

2016 was a year of unexpected things, unexpected friendships, unforgettable moments, a lot of travelling, it was a landmark year regarding blogging for me, full of many amazing projects. That’s why I decided to take a look back and remember all the things that happened this year. They are all well-documented here on my blog and social media. I will take the opportunity to thank you as well, all of this wouldn’t be possible without you, my dear readers. Your constant support, your likes, comments, messages and shares, it means a lot and it also helps me push my limits, creating new, even better content. Nevertheless, 16 things I will remember from the year 2016, blogging-wise, are:

Relaunching my blog with the help of Domen Blenkuš and Vida Igličar in March.
A short blogger trip to Trieste with Toyota, Tesa (Magnifique blog) and Katarina Veselič.
Doing a project with Renault, visiting 3 music festivals in Croatia.

Being a part of the Grazia Beauty Awards jury.
Styling a fashion show in Citypark Ljubljana.

Being a part of many blogger events throughout the whole year.
Organising a beauty bloggers event Lepotno2017 together with Gabi (Parokeets blog).
A blogger trip to Marrakech, Morocco with my blogger bestie Tesa and photographer Katarina.

women’secret shop

Remembering my women’secret giveaway this month? Well, here are some photo captures of the shopping trip we made together with my giveaway winner Vida. We visited the women’secret store in Citypark Ljubljana, checked out their newest pieces and found the perfect lingerie set for her. She decided to go for a black push up bra with trendy straps and a lace thong to go with it. A lovely choice that combines classic elements with a twist! Dear Vida, I hope you enjoyed out little shopping spree, I had an amazing time!

winter outfit

This outfit is all about the pieces I’ve been hunting down for months. The hunt for the perfect black blazer started a long time ago, I finally found one in Zara. The same goes for the lace-up ankle boots, which I now own thanks to MASS store. These Guess ankle boots are truly made for walking, they are super comfortable and chic at the same time. Another piece I’ve been looking for this season is a red blouse, I actually found this one at Primark, while being inexpensive it does look nice, don’t you think?

taking time off

As a content creator (meaning: being my own boss), I can say that I have full control over my working day (which can be a good or a bad thing). Lately, I’ve been taking my work everywhere, the past month I haven’t had a single day completely off, not even Sundays. Being so passionate about what you do, makes you forget to slow down a bit, you know feeling… So, Christmas came and I decided to skip a day (which ended up being two), and focus on my dearest ones and me. Having Christmas celebrations and snuggling in my new warm, soft women’secret lounge-wear was a blast. The time reminded me that there are good reasons why you should take time off every once in a while. Here are the reasons why:

#1 You will be more creative

And being creative is definitely a key component of every blogger’s or journalist’s job (or any other job for that matter). Each one of us needs to allow time for new creative ideas to emerge. After a short break, your head will be refreshed and ready for new creativity.

#2 You will be more productive

Studies shows that taking time off actually increases productivity. Being completely off the grid for a day or two can help anyone. Of course, you shouldn’t forget about work that has deadlines. I’ve been keeping my HP Spectre x360 next to me to check emails and keep an eye on all my posts if they are going online as planned (besides watching too much episodes of Pretty Little Liars; taking time off has resulted in being up to date with the last episode, yaayy). Taking time off is way easier with a little bit of scheduling or at least keeping up to date with the main tasks. This has been a piece of cake with my new computer.

#3 You will be happier and healthier

Taking time off is essential for your physical and mental health. Being with the people I love has recharged my energy. They bring, after all, meaning to my life. Now, I am ready for the new year to kick in! Who’s excited for 2017?
