A luxurious little black bottle doing wonders? I came across Payot Élixir Douceur Soothing Comforting Essence a while ago and it literally blew my mind. This beauty treasure is one of the best products for fighting dry skin. Yes, it is expensive, but totally worth it.

What they say at Payot?
Payot Élixir Douceur Soothing Comforting Essence is a reparative treatment ideal for normal to dry skin types. Acting as a protective shield, Elixir Douceur is effective on all the mechanisms of skin sensitivity to soothe, repair and restructure the skin. It relieves congestion and soothes feelings of irritation, comforts and restructures the epidermis and protects skin from external aggressions. Water Lily Extract calms skin and restructures deep within whilst Sesame Oil restores the cutaneous barrier. Elixir Douceur Soothing Comforting Essence is blended with Rice Bran Oil which protects from visible signs of ageing and combats external aggression whilst Sunflower Oil nourishes and soothes skin and calms irritation. An infusion of Borage Oil works to protect and regenerate dry skin and leaves the skin luxuriously protected, comforted and soothed with a silky soft feeling and suppler appearance. Payot’s advice is to apply daily, morning and night, over your entire face and neck, on thoroughly cleansed skin. Can be applied alone or under your usual face cream.

What do I say?
Payot Élixir Douceur Soothing Comforting Essence comes in an elegant black glass bottle with a sophisticated dropping pipette. I had a chance to use some of Payot’s products before (check out the review here) and they turned out to be amazing, so I must admit that I had high expectations about this one. It actually doesn’t have any special scent and the texture is light and not too greasy (I mean, it is oily, but in a light way). It absorbs relatively quick and doesn’t leave a greasy layer. I combined it with different kinds of creams and the results were always nice. For those who suffer from tightness, dry skin or dry patches, this product will be a lifesaver. Imagine how surprised I was after I woke up in the morning with all my problematic areas gone (=dry patches). I usually use it in the evening, sometimes also in the morning after my cleaning routine – dropping a few drops directly on my face and massaging it with my fingertips. This definitely is an expensive product, but it will last you a long time and you’ll love the results.

Those of you who follow my instagram account @ajdasitar, probably noticed these two REN products on one of the photos where I revealed my evening skin care routine. They are a perfect match for any skin type (matching mine perfectly), even sensitive ones. These sleek pump bottles are just waiting to be used – they’ll make your skin healthier, smoother, radiant and revitalised!

Vita Mineral Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum Oil (formerly known as Omega 3 Night Repair Serum)

What they say at REN?
A transforming oil that strengthens the skin’s vital lipid barrier and re-energizes skin cell activity to dramatically improve moisture levels, boosts overall skin health and vitality while reducing the signs of wrinkles, premature ageing and sensitivity. Skin is left visibly fuller and feels plumper, healthier and fitter. It reduces the signs of premature ageing, encourages the natural process of skin renewal, replenishes the skin’s moisture barrier and optimises the effectiveness of your skincare regime. It contains omega 3 oil from Vegetal Plankton and Gold of Pleasure Oil which promotes cell renewal and optimum moisture levels to restore firmness and elasticity. Rosehip Seed Oil is rich in Vitamin A and stimulates the natural metabolism of skin cell, while Wheat Germ Oil nourishes and provides essential vitamins to protect the skin from oxidative damage. Apply 2 or 3 drops under moisturiser or makeup in the morning and/or night.

Ingredients / Sestavine: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Camelina Sativa Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Phaeodactylum Tricornotum Extract, Bisabolol, Parfum (Fragrance), Linalool, Limonene, Tocopherol.

Frankincense Revitalising Night Cream

What they say at REN?
Frankincense Revitalising Night Cream is a night cream formulated to hydrate, recharge and revitalise the skin overnight, leaving it looking radiant, smoothed and beautifully healthy. It improves vitality and radiance, reduces the appearance of fine lines, helps combat the signs of premature ageing and hydrates and replenishes the skin’s moisture barrier. Skin feels softer, firmer and smother. Massage it gently into the face and neck until absorbed. Ideally used over Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum Oil. Vitamin C and Citroflavonoids from Calabrian Oranges that reduce free radical damage and boost collagen formation to lift and firm the skin. Frankincense or Boswellic Acid relax facial muscles to help smooth expression lines and wrinkles. Phytosterols from Camellia and Wheat Germ boost lipid content and restore.

Ingredients / Sestavine: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Camelina Sativa Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Phaeodactylum Tricornotum Extract, Bisabolol, Parfum (Fragrance), Linalool, Limonene, Tocopherol.

What do I say?
I always use these two products in combination. I mostly use them at night – applying around 3 or 4 drops of Omega 3 Night Repair Serum and one pump of the Frankincense Revitalising Night Cream. I use this combo a few times during the day as well (when I need some extra hydration). They are suitable for all skin types; I have normal to dry skin and they work amazing. They are both delicately scented – the serum has a sweet scent while the cream has a herbal scent (I am not the biggest fan of the scent of cream, but it vanishes relatively quick). The result is radiant and smoothed skin (as they promise at REN). The serum is light and relatively quickly absorbed in to my skin (therefore it might be great for those with oily skin type as well). The night cream is thick, but not heavy; it has a calming effect on my skin. If I look down at the ingreditent list, I must say that I see only the best – such as Camelina Sativa Oil in Omega 3 Night Repair Serum (rich in omega 3 fatty acids). Overall, I can say that these two REN treasures are a perfect match for any skin type, even for those with sensitive skin! I really really love the packaging which comes with a pump – it’s highly practical and hygienic (it would be even greater if they didn’t come in clear bottles as you wouldn’t need to keep them away from daylight).

This is my first outfit post in 2014, a bit late, but better late then never, right? It has always been quality over quantity when it comes to my blog posts. I mainly stick to this principle when styling my outfits. I would rather have a few really good pieces (and wear them with great pleasure) then a whole bunch of unworn ones that just hang in my closet. I must admit I wasn’t always like this (I used to buy stuff I didn’t really need or wouldn’t wear even once) and It went wrong a few times as the resullt of an impulsive buy. I try to keep it simple, elegant and chic – staying true to myself.
